Is my marriage worth saving?

long story - will make it short - i was a jw for 4 years.

hy husband took to it straigt away and has been a jw for 20 years - we were both converted by one of his workmates.

our 4 kids were all baptised jws and thankfully 3 escaped (2 disfellowshipped, one fading) - so my eldest son is still in with his dad.

Dump the piece of shit. I take it your kids are out of the house by now? I would simply say: this isn't working anymore and leave his behind. There are plenty of fish in the sea. I personally no longer believe in long-term relationships if you are feeling miserable in them.

His primary concern is da troof and there is nothing you'll be able to do about it. He's lying, cheating, a true JW spouse (trust me, I've had 2) but whenever you do something wrong you end up talking to the elders about it. You're too good for him and I've made the same mistakes, I overstayed, tried to fix things, as long as you're out of the JW, you're out of any JW member's love. Same happened with my spouse, I told her I wanted to stop going to the KH, the next thing she was packing up her stuff and kidnapped my child.

The only reason he's not letting the elders know about you is because he himself wants to maintain his position (being exemplary) and he's lying to them about it as well. ALL men in a JW position do that I've noticed. I've been protected from DF/DA because of someone else's position.

wendy tucker was put on public reproof at 13 years old for rebelling against her jehovah's witness upbringing.

she alledges her jw elder father beat her terribly, actually breaking her nose for not wanting to follow the dictates of the watchtower organization.

he destroyed and threw out practically everything she owned as a young girl and he physically abused her to the point that the state of florida took her into custody at age 14.wendy's early years growing up in a jehovah's witness family is a constant reminder of how unloving jw parents can be to their own children wendy is now speaking out about how evil and cruel the watchtower organization is...... she is our guest on the six screens of the watchtower conference call sat.

Minor transgressions due to sin should be overlooked. Here, “love covers a multitude of sins,” and we should forgive “up to seventy-seven times.” (Matthew 18:21, 22) This is the “time to keep quiet.” But when there is an attempt to conceal major sins, this may be the “time to speak.”

Matter of fact: I have been asked myself to provide sensitive information regarding Internet usage of a brother when I worked at a major ISP (not in the US). It was used by the elders to convict him.

got hotmail hacked...anyone help me?

my hotmail got/is hacked.. i have no idea how, i never open links or downloads i dont trust etc etc.

started when i noticed i couldnt open hatmail in ei and had to use firefox.. it sent emails to all my contacts (i have multiple accounts with their own passwords, so i dont know if went thru them too) and i know my dad opened one and it shut his pc down so bad he's had to take it into a shop.. i ran a scan and removed one trojan win32.. i went onto a different pc and changed all passwords then logged off and back on, checked emails.

sent emails to warm my contacts.

Get a Mac - alternatively reinstall Windows, get a decent av program and use FF/Chrome instead of IE, update Flash/Adobe/MS regularly.

Circuit Leasing selling on JW.ORG ????

so i was poking around jw.org a lil recently...... noticed this advertisement was still present in the 'privileged' section (ie you gotta have login access).

this was posted on jw.org a little over a year ago (as shown in pic) but since it is still viewable......figured it is fair-game for jwn fodder.

thoughts?????.

Gouging their flock. They are mainly 2007-2008 Buick LaCrosse CXL which in my area costs $8,000-10,000 used with those miles, $12,000 is the list price for used car dealerships and are usually 50k miles. Also, from someone that actually bought such car: they do charge a transportation fee to get the car to you.

Refurbished iPhones- Is It Worth it?

my finances are tight b/c of illness.

an important part of being desireable to employers is being technologically proficient.

it seems strange b/c my employers would pay for anything even if only remotely related to the job.

I would buy the refurbished iPhone over a Windows Phone anytime. Windows Phones don't run the identical Excel/Word that you'll find on your desktop so for that purpose they're useless. Also, they suck through battery much faster than a comparable iPhone and crash frequently (such as the sound driver will crash and the phone won't be able to ring until you restart it).

I would go for an iPhone 4 or even a 3G if you're looking for refurbished, the 4S only added Siri and some other minor technicalities to the iPhone 4. If you get it with a contract, $100 more for a brand new phone is not all that much extra to spend unless you don't want to be locked into a contract.

I need to get a credit card, any suggestions?

i got all of my credit scores yesterday and it turns out i have a low credit score because i have almost no debt and haven't had a credit card in years.. i need to get a card to build some debt and all that good stuff.

should i go for miles, cashback, something else?.

Not really 'better'. As I said, there's different options depending on your lifestyle and use of the card. I would never pay for the gimmicks though (whether it be miles, points or chargeback) as it always benefits the bank.

Get a 0-cost credit card with the lowest rates available through your bank (preferably a credit union) by either VISA or MasterCard (Amex/Discover is not accepted everywhere) and most likely you'll get certain options free anyway.

I personally like the Bank of America online interface as you can just press a button to dispute a transaction. MasterCard points seem to add up a lot faster than VISA cards though but VISA can be used in virtually every country while MasterCard is not necessarily recognized outside the first world.

Yes, any revolving credit you should pay on time and quickly and your credit score will go through the roof (that could be store credit or credit cards). Not paying or paying late on any debt lowers your score. If you have made mistakes in the past, well, revolving credit fixes them the fastest although mortgages and investments also help as they stabilize your numbers. It also depends on how long your credit lines have been open, the longer they remain open the better so it doesn't help when you close your accounts as soon as the benefits are done.

As far as a specific card: I have one where there is 0% interest charged for the first 3 months of a purchase so that if I charge the card then I don't have to pay interest on it right away. There are no other benefits (besides some point system that is exchangeable for gift cards). If you travel a LOT, then miles can be useful but generally they are useless, they expire, they have blackout dates. Chargeback works well too but it's usually little return and requires you to shop at the more expensive or specific stores and generally also charge you a yearly fee.

As far as the question about China heard earlier: Some parts of China have only gotten worse as far as air quality and definitely don't travel if you're sickly, their hospitals suck for non-business foreigners (you usually end up spending $10k at a private hospital for something like a broken bone). Their food is likewise not for the faint of heart or the faint of intestinal powers although in the bigger cities you usually can find decent quality food. Most street foods are also safe to eat while restaurants catering specifically to tourists should probably be shunned. China is a combination of a 3rd world country and a 1st world country and it's very dependent on who you know, where you go and what you want to do.

Kingdom melodies / B4 Copyright/JW`s stealing melodies/anyone remember this ?

i can recall sometime ago in the 60`s 70`s or theirabouts,it when they first printed their own songbook must have been before the org.copyrighted their material,and the reason they did that is because some brothers were stealing the tunes ?

maybe modifying them and passing them off as their own for commercial gain?

( i know some of you are going to say wtf ?

The older songs were very much inspired if not plagiarized by classical composers (pink songbook and before).

The songs most of us still know (the brown songbook) went a bit away from that but if you listen to a lot of classical music you'll still notice that some chords and even whole 'riffs' are blatantly copied from the lesser known classicals.

The latest songs (on the colorful paperback songbook) are really Disneyfied, we even laughed about it when I was still a dub in the FS group. The tunes, the way the music is composed, the choice of octave - they really are trying to appeal to a younger crowd with them but it's horrible.
